PRESIDIUM OF THE DOCTORAL STUDENTS’ COUNCIL FOR THE 2020/2021 TERM

The School of Social Sciences trains PhD students in seven disciplines in the social sciences: - Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management - Social communication sciences and media - Political science and administration - Legal sciences - Sociological sciences - Pedagogy - Psychology In choosing the courses to be taken, a doctoral student is not tied exclusively to his or her academic discipline - he or she may take courses taught by lecturers representing other, related disciplines in the social sciences as well as classes providing additional competencies confirmed by a certificate. Doctoral students can also indicate their need for additional courses and training. The Doctoral School of Social Sciences organises additional workshops as part of summer schools for doctoral students. An important part of this is to support the applications of PhD students from the second year onwards to obtain funding for the implementation of Individual Research Plans from the University of Tomorrow 2, the UAM Research University Excellence Initiative and external sources. The School also offers mobility and implementation of part of the study abroad programme within the Erasmus+ programme, bilateral agreements and scholarships from the STER NAWA project.
